Jill Gidge, CIC, CISR, CPCU, AAI, ACSR, CPIW, CRIS, AIS, has built a teaching career grounded in both deep expertise and lived experience. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts–Lowell, she began her insurance journey almost by accident—helping her husband start his agency in 1972 while completing degrees in applied science, nursing, and behavioral science. What began as part-time support quickly grew into a full-time profession, eventually leading her to serve more than 30 years as an agency principal.

Her passion for education became evident early in her career.  Since 1992, she has taught insurance programs across New England and beyond, sharing not only technical knowledge but also the practical insights gained from decades in the field.

She earned her CIC designation in 1994 and her CISR in 2006, and she has proudly served as an instructor for The National Alliance since 2003. She teaches all CISR courses as well as William T. Hold Seminars.

Her expertise also extends to expert witness work in errors and omissions cases, further strengthening the real-world perspective she brings to every classroom.

What Jill enjoys most about teaching is the moment when understanding finally clicks. Whether it’s a student’s expression brightening or a message in the chat saying a real-life example made everything clear, those breakthroughs fuel her commitment to education.

Some moments stay with her forever. In one unforgettable CISR class, a student went into early labor but insisted on completing the exam—her final step toward earning her designation. She finished the test, headed straight to the hospital, delivered a healthy baby girl, and later learned she had passed. For Jill, that determination captured the heart of why she teaches: to support people as they grow, persevere, and succeed.
